Topic of the Night | “Trust & Identity”
As you may have heard, I recently visited The Holy Land. And yes, it's amazing, breathtakingly amazing. The Bible came alive, the stories became so human. Breathing in the air, seeing and touching the walls, and walking the land where Jesus walked brought new perspective... mainly, how real this story is. Jesus was a real man, the redemptive story was set in real history, the disciples climbed out of real fishing books and followed a real rabbi. But something happens when the realness of Scripture hits you. You are left with the feeling that God really understands me, his Son really understands what I'm going through in life and I can imagine what he had to go through.
When I realized that "The Last Days in the Desert" was about to premiere, I knew I had to go. I believe, from what I've read and seen (trailers), that it's a fictional account filling in what it must have been like for Jesus as he faced the wilderness and his calling as the Son of God. I believe it's a very down to earth depiction of what it must have felt like for Jesus to face the daunting task of obedience and trust.
Well, I'd love to hang with you and experience this movie together. I plan on eating some good Santa Monica food early in the evening (say 5PM-ish). I hope to get some good discussions in about "Trust and Identity" and I'd love to hear your story. If you're interested, please comment below (after reading the requirements). Thanks guys and I hope to see you soon!
