Today is Sunday.
It’s the Lord’s day.
I join today all the pastors across this land who are up praying and seeking to serve their people.
This morning as I was prepping the milk for my babies, washing neglected dishes, and trying to act like I’m a helpful person to my wife, the words from my father-in-law echoed in my heart and mind. Last night before saying goodbye (today he goes back to Korea) he challenged me with these words. “Bryan, go back to the beginning. Work and serve with the excitement and fervor you had when you started the church with the Lord. You can’t afford to simply work and cruise on the blessings you are experiencing. You must return to the first love, that initial excitement, trust, and fear of the Lord.” Granted, he said all this in Korean, so I feel at liberty to translate loosely due to my un-skilled-ness in all things Korean. However, you get the point and I got the gist.
So today, pray with me this prayer, "Lord, light the fire again.... and again."
Join me today in keeping fresh that fire, nurturing that respect, and expressing that joy.
Join me today at church and let’s worship again as if for the first time.
We are well into our Anniversary Month at Ekko.
- Last week we joined the national dialogue on Orphan Sunday.
- Today we cover our "Mission" as a church.
- Next week we'll celebrate with 2014's Baptism Service.
- Then on Sunday, the 23rd, we celebrate our 6th year as a church!
