Prayer of Blessing 1
May God give a blessing to this house, this cafe.
God bless this place from roof to floor,
from wall to wall,
from end to end,
from its foundation and in its covering.
In the strong name of the triune God,
all disturbance cease,
captive spirits freed,
God’s Spirit alone dwell within these walls.
We call upon the Lord
to save, shield, and surround
this house, this cafe,
this day, this night,
and every night.
Amen.*

Prayer of Blessing 2
May all be welcomed here,
friend and stranger,
from near and far.
May each be blessed and honored
as they enter.
There is a friend’s love
in the gentle heart of the Savior.
For love of him we offer friendship
and welcome every guest.
We call upon the Lord
to save, shield, and surround
this house, this cafe,
this day, this night,
and every night.
Amen.*
Message for House Roots
“As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”
Benediction Prayer
“Father, we bless House Roots in your name. May you cause it to prosper richly in Christ Jesus. May you watch over, guard and protect it and all whom it serves. May your countenance be upon the employees of this house. May your face be turned toward those who come in, such that they would see in Your Son how very much they are loved. How you accept them for who they are… May every cup be an invitation to follow you. May you be gracious to House Roots and all who work here, may everyone here sense your favor, mercy and goodness as they find refuge here. Lord grant this place your peace; May it always be at rest and centered in Jesus, who is the Lord, and through whom we ask all these things… and may Christ, your Son, be victorious in and through this place. We pray all this in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.”
