On November 2015, I wrote this on my blog concerning the elderly.
This (video) brings to surface what's been on my heart for awhile now... I've been praying about the elderly. My prayer is that someday we will be a people who will make the time for those whom society has deemed "useless".
I'm happy to report that our prayers have been answered for God has raised up a group/s of brave and wonderful people to represent us in these elderly homes. I am so thankful to the Lord that He has trained us to become aware of those whom the society often ignores.
Ekko, be on the lookout.
At home, school, work, church...
for those that are on the margins.
In doing so,
you may actually enter
the presence of God.
For where "they" are,
Jesus was often found with "them".
The "Other" is a gift, a blessing, for in and around them is the presence of God.
The "Other" is our brother... our sister.
The "Other" helps us recover our humanity.
Stay tuned, we will be sending out a prayer/liturgy for those (Ekklesias) visiting Elderly homes.
Until then, enjoy these videos and audio.
The audio is a sermon I gave during the Exodus series in the early years of Ekko that pertains to this topic.
